Elizabeth A. Lyons

Liz Lyons has been involved in the insurance industry in various capacities for both life and health, and property and casualty agencies for over 15 years, with a break in between to raise her children.

Since 1999, she has been employed by James P. Murphy and Associates in their commercial lines department. While facing the daily challenges of providing the firm’s clients with the coverages needed to protect their business in a covered loss, she relies on the International Association of Insurance Professionals to keep her abreast of products and services available to them.

Liz joined Southern Connecticut Insurance Professionals in 2006.  In 2007, she became President-Elect, and then President from 2008 to 2010.  In addition to these positions, she has served on the Community Service, Bylaws, Nominating and State Day Committees.  On the State Level, she has been the parliamentarian for two State Days, as well as Parliamentarian at the 2011 Region I Conference in King of Prussia, PA.  While attending the past two National Conventions, she has provided advice to fellow delegates on using Roberts Rules of Order when proposing changes to the Bylaws.

She lives with her husband, Michael, in East Norwalk, and is the very proud mother of her three children, James, Claire and Krystina.
